Nurul Hasan hits unbeaten ton: Sheikh Jamal edge past Rupganj Tigers in DPL Super League

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited edged past Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club by four wickets in their Super League match of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on Thursday. Wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited remained unbeaten with 132 runs and played the key role for the victory of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited. Nurul Hasan hit five sixes and 10 fours in his 118-ball innings. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific innings.
Chasing Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club’s 249 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited reached the victory target scoring 251 for the loss of six wickets when they had just six balls to spare.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club hit a polished 43. His 74-ball knock saw two fours.
Second-down Mushfiqur Rahim made 32 from 42 balls featuring four fours.
Mukidul Islam of Rupganj Tigers bagged two wickets at the cost of 76 runs, while Nahid Hasan, Sharifullah and Enamul Haque (Junior) took one wicket each conceding 22, 34 and 39 runs respectively.
Earlier, opener Zakir Hasan notched up a sparkle 75. His 98-ball innings had seven fours.
Fourth-down Saad Nasim remained unbeaten with exact 50. He hit two fours and two sixes in his 43-ball innings.
Nasum Ahmed, Fazle Mahmud, Marshall Ayub added 27, 25 and 23 runs respectively to the Rupganj Tigers total.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed three wickets in the space of 40 runs, while Sunzamul Islam bagged two wickets instead of 46 runs and Parvez Rasool took one wicket for 38 runs.
