Defending champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club smartly returned to the title race of the JB Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football beating home team Chittagong Abahani Limited by 1-0 goal in the Chittagong leg opener at the MA Aziz Stadium here on Friday.
Darboe Landing scored the all important goal in the 63rd minute of the match by an angular shot that kissed the net hitting the side bar (1-0).
By virtue of this well merited victory, Sheikh Jamal advanced to the 3rd slot in the 12-team league securing 25 points from 15 matches while Chittagong Abahani Limited remained at the 2nd place with 28 points from 15 encounters, despite the day’s defeat.
Dhaka Abahani Limited topped the list collecting 32 points from 14 outings.
Dhaka Mohammedan SC will play Team BJMC at 3:30 pm while Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Muktijoddha Sangsad KC at 6:15 pm on Saturday at the same venue.
