‘Sheikh Hasina, a safe haven for people of all religious faiths’

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said Sheikh Hasina is the safe haven for all religious people as the Prime Minister ensured rights of all religious people through the amendment of the constitution.
“Once upon a time, secularism, one of the integral parts of the constitution,was erased and religion based politics initiated in the country through amending section 38 of the constitution…secularism has been established again,” he said.
The minister made this comment on Friday while participating in a colorful rally arranged by different local organizations marking religious festival Janmashtami, the birth of lord Sri Krishna and one of the major festivals of the Hindus, at Nazirpur upazila in Pirojpur.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina again incorporated secularism in the constitution and that’s why the people of all religions could perform their rituals equally, said the minister in his address, reports BSS.
After coming to power, Rezaul said “we are now living in the country peacefully as the incumbent prime minister has established communal harmony in the country after implementing the trial of war crimes tribunal.
Nazirpur Upazila’s Assistant Commissioner (Land) M Al Mamun, former commander of Pirojpur district Muktijoddah Sangsad Goutam Narayan Roy Chowdhury, Nazirpur Upazila Parishad Vice-Chairman Sheikh Mustafizur Rahman Ranju, Woman Vice Chairman Shahriar Ferdous, Nazirpur Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary Nirjon Kanti Biswas and Pirojpur District Awami League Joint General Secretary Ziaul Ahsan, among others, attended the rally.
