A medical examination has confirmed that a female police constable was gang-raped by her ex-husband and his accomplices in the city’s Khilgaon, said Bilkis Akther, Coordinator of the one-stop crisis center (OCC) at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
“The forensic report said that the constable was gang-raped,” she said. The victim was admitted to the OCC on June 13.
Ironically, the female constable of Turag police station was gang raped by her ex-husband SI Kalimur Rahman of the Special Security and Protection Battalion and his accomplices at Khilgaon on June 10. Kalimur has been on the run since the incident and his mobile phone was found switched off, said Anowar Hossain, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Motijheel Division) under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). “Several police teams are working to arrest him,” he said.
