Shawpon Parvez of Ocean Group became champion of the Premier Division of the Mutual Trust Bank Limited Independence Cup Squash Tournament defeating Sumon of Uttara Club by 3-0 sets in the final at the Gulshan Club on Tuesday.
Saiful Mia of Bangladesh Navy emerged as the champion of the A Division crushing Bishu Nath of Gulshan Club by 3-0 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day.
Md Rafique of Bangladesh Army became champion of the B Division beating his colleague Imrul Hasan by 3-2 sets in the final at the same venue on the same day.
After the final matches, Mayor of the Dhaka North City Corporation Annisul Huq distributed the trophies and prize-money among the winners as the chief guest while Assistant Chief of Naval Staff of Bangladesh Navy Rear Admiral Saiful Kabir was with him as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Squash and Racket Federation Faruque Khan, MP presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
General Secretary of the Federation Sohel Hamid and Chairman of the Mutual Trust Bank Limited MA Rouf were present at the time.
