Sharon Stone is set to receive the Golden Icon Award at next month’s Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland.
Stone, 63, will accept the award September 25, according to The Hollywood Reporter, after which the film Casino will be screened, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination in 1996. “It is an honor to engage with the global community and celebrate the profound depth of our art,” said the Basic Instinct beauty. “I am thrilled to be recognized in this capacity.” The Sliver actress is also scheduled for participate in a masterclass on the craft of acting in speaking about her career and creative methods. The festival’s artistic director, Christian Jungen, called Stone ‘a true icon of the seventh art’ and ‘a woman that Hitchcock would have loved.’
Jungen said, “Her distinguishing qualities include an irresistible charm, a great human depth, the talent to play a whole range of roles and the ability to captivate an audience like no other.
