Mohammad Sharif grabbed 6 for 33 including a brilliant hat-trick as Legends of Rupganj recorded their fourth wins in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) beating defending champions Gazi Group Cricketers by five-wickets in the sixth round match held on Monday at BKSP ground no 3 in Savar.
Put to bat first by Rupganj, Gazi Group were folded at a small total of 190 in 32.4 overs. Nadif Chowdhury top scored with 75 runs off 61-ball laced with two boundaries and five over boundaries while Zaker Ali contributed 37. Gazi Group lost as many as batsmen in between 0 to 22 runs.
Apart from Mohammad Sharif’s six wickets haul Mohammad Shahid claimed three wickets giving away 32 runs.
In reply, Rupganj slipped to 4 for 86 to chase the target but a solid 102-run fifth wicket stand between Parvez Rasool (61 n.o) and Nazmul Hossain Milon (38) ensured Rupganj’s victory with five balls to spare.
Mohammad Sharif of Rupganj was named the player of the match for his impressive bowling performance.
