AL men's attack: Shariatpur, Kishoreganj candidates including 50 others injured

Jatiya Oikya Front and BNP candidate for Shariatpur-3 Constituency Mia Nuruddin Apu and Shariful Alam Kishoreganj- 6 constituencies were injured when the police and a group of AL men attacked them while campaigning in their respective areas on Monday.
The Sheaf of Paddy candidates and about 50 other BNP leaders and activists also received injuries.
Apu alleged that the ruling Bangladesh Awami League men carried out the attack when his supporters brought out a procession in Sadar upazila.
The BNP leader alleged that a group of AL men swooped on them when their procession was heading to Sadar upazila from Kudalpur area.
Apu received injuries in his head and shoulder and was rushed to a local hospital.
Later he has shifted in a hospital in Dhaka by a helicopter due to worsening of his physical condition.
Officer-in-charge of Gosairhat Police Station Alamgir Hossain went to the hospital to visit Apu.
The police officer, however, said, they are yet to receive any written complaint about the incident.
When asked, Gosairhaat upazila Chairman and the AL’s General Secretary Syed Nasir Uddin denied the ruling party’s involvement in the incident.
Police intercepted BNP activists and candidate of Kishorganj- 6 (Bhairob-Kuliarchar) constituency on Monday afternoon when candidate and Distric BNP President Md Shariful Alam was going to Borokharchar from his own village Betiakandi of Kuliarchar Upazila.  
Shariful Alam told journalists that during crossing Kuliarchar Bazar with a group of supporters, police charged them from behind with baton and also fired even candidate Shariful.
As a result, about 25 BNP activists and candidate shariful were injured.
