Stocks fell for the second consecutive day of the week on Monday when prices of the majority of traded securities plunged further.
The session on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) began with lackluster trade and the trend continued till the end of the day. Amid this dull trade, 143 securities suffered loss when 119 gained marginally.
The large-scale price fall made price indices unstable and brought them down at close though the fall was minimal. The broader DSEX index of DSE finished the session 12.56 points down at 4467.61, with the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES following it at 1712.48 and 1085.41 accordingly.
