The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Thursday the 15-member squad for the first and second One Day International (ODI) matches against Sri Lanka.
Best ODI all-rounder of world cricket Shakib Al Hasan returned to the squad. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Nasum Ahmed have been dropped from the squad. Imrul Kayes was not included in the squad. Pacers Rubel Hossain and Hasan Mahmud have been ruled out from the squad. Pacer Shoriful Hossain has been included in the squad. He played Test and T20I recently. Shoriful may be make debut in the upcoming ODI.
The cricketers, who have been chosen, are: Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Mehidy Hassan Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket team arrived in Dhaka on May 16 to play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh Cricket team.
Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the first ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur on May 23, will face the tourists in the second ODI at the same venue on May 25 and will meet the visitors in the third and last ODI at the same venue on May 28. All the matches will be Day/ Night affairs.
Sri Lanka Cricket team will depart Dhaka for Colombo on May 29.
