Shanta First Income Unit Fund declares 8 pc dividend

Shanta First Income Unit Fund (SFIUF) has been declared 8.0 percent dividend for the Fiscal Year 2018-19 ended on 30 June 2019. Shanta Asset Management Limited (SAML) – the Sponsor and Asset Manager of the fund – informs that the unit holders, whose names are appeared in the register on 30 June 2019, will be entitled to receive the aforesaid dividend. During this time, the fund has posted BDT 0.89 Earnings Per Unit (EPU). On top of that, the total return of the fund was 12.0% during this time while DSEX gained 0.3 percent, says a media release.
Commencing the subscription on 14 February 2018, the fund was fully subscribed on the very first day of the subscription. Driven by efficient fund management and rigorous research, the fund continuously outperformed DSEX, the broad index of Dhaka Stock Exchange. Since inception, the fund generated a NAV return of 19.4% whereas DSEX declined 7.0% as on 30 June 2019.
Mohammad Emran Hasan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SAML said, “Fund managers faced a lot of obstacles due to a sluggish and volatile capital market in the last fiscal year. I believe, our investors are satisfied with this 12.0% return in comparison to the return of other investment options.
