Opposition Deputy Leader and Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader MP has called for the reopening of all sugar mills including Shampur Sugar Mills without stopping the livelihood of the people. Stopping the employment of thousands of workers is an utter failure for politicians.
He told reporters after an exchange of views with mill workers on the launch and operation of the mill at Shampur Sugar Mills Gate on Sunday afternoon. Why is the government not modernizing the existing sugar mill machines when their production capacity is declining, in whose interest are the factories being shut down? GM Quader said, “The Barisal incident is nothing new. However, those involved in the incident should be brought under punishment, he said.

Abdur Razzak, Central General Secretary of Chhatra Samaj Al-Mamun, Chairman of Gopalpur Union Parishad Azizur Rahman, Joint General Secretary of Mahanagar Japar Lokman Hossain, President of Sugar Mill Employees Union Akhtarul Badsha, General Secretary Abu Sufian and other workers of the mill.
