The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Sunday) placed seven bodyguards of GK Shamim, a top government listed contractor arrested during a raid against casino, were placed on three days’ fresh remand each in the case filed against them under the Arms Act.

of RAB-1 and Investigation Officer of the case, produced them in the court seeking a seven-day remand for each. RAB members on September 20 detained SM Golam Kibria Shamim on charges of extortion and tender manipulation. His seven bodyguards were also arrested at that time.
On that day, the elite force members raided his house and office in the city’s Niketan area and seized eight firearms, a huge amount of ammunition, fixed deposit receipt (FDR) worth Tk 165 crore, around Tk 1.8 crore in cash, a large stash of US and Singaporean dollars and some foreign liquor.
The seven bodyguards are Md Delwar Hossain, Md Murad Hossain, Md Jahidul Islam, Md Shahidul Islam, Md Kamal Hossain, Md samsad Hossain and Md Aminul Islam.
