Shamima Nazneen hailed from Gankulpara of Kotiadi in Kishoreganj is the viewers’ favourite actress now. She started to perform on stage after completing her master degree in Physics from Eden College in 1994. She attached with popular theatre troupe, Nagorik Natya Sampradai in 1996. During that time she started to perform with theatre play.
She firstly performed in stage play titled Thatta Tamasha under the direction of Aly Zaker. Later her performances in plays Dewan Gazir Kichchha, Acholayoton, Galileo, Kanthal Bagan tremendously impressed the audience.
This popular actress is now acting in two new serials. Of those serials, one is MR Mizan directed Nogor-e Alo, while another one is Masud Sezan directed Cholitechhe Circus. She is acting in two important roles in these serials.
After finishing study Shamima Nazneen didn’t want to engage with formal job. For this reason, she established herself in acting.
While communicating with her Shamima Nazneen told this correspondent, “To come into this position, not only Nagorik Natya Sampradai but also Humayun sir played an important role in my life. Now acting is my passion. I am enjoying love and response from the audience everyday. By this way, I want to continue acting rest of my life.”
Late Humayun Ahmed first gave Shamima Nazneen an opportunity to perform in TV play in 1998. By drama serial Sabuj Chhaya Shamima started her acting career on television screen. Later she became a familiar face of Humayun Ahmed directed TV plays and serials.
Not only this, Shamima also became popular to perform in television commercial of Danish, which was also directed by Humayun Ahmed.
She became more popular to perform in Humayun Ahmed directed movies Srabon Megh-er Din, Dui Duari, Shyamol Chhaya, Ghetuputro Komola and Chashi Nazrul Islam directed movie Dhrubotara and also Nargis Akhter directed movie Meghla Akash.
Shamima Nazneen lastly came into limelight to perform in role of sister of Mosharraf Karim in Masud Sezan directed Victory Day’s special play by her outstanding performance.
Now Shamima Nazneen acted dram serials Elebele, directed by Badrul Anam Soud, and Second Innings, directed by Idris Haider being aired on Banglavision and Asian TV respectively.
