Shakti Foundation has been working for 30 years with the aim of making women change their lives through ‘self-reliance’ and empowerment. In this long journey, the backward women in the society are turned into entrepreneurs through various trainings and small financing. In these 30 years, the organization has empowered more than 5 lakh housewives in the country, said founder and executive director of the Foundation Humaira Islam.
Recently Shakti Foundation Celebrating the 30th founding anniversary. Foundation staff and members includes exhibitions and sales of Shakti members and their products, Shakti Health Camps and Samrudhi programs, discussions and pleasant cultural programme.
Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Mohammad Farasuddin, Vice Chairman of Micro Credit Authority Md. Fasiullah, founding member and chairman of Shakti Foundation Mahbuba Akhter, Deputy Executive Director Imran Ahmed and other dignitaries were present.
