IM Abu Suafian Shakil of Golden Sporting Club earned 6 points after 8th or penultimate round games and is sharing 3rd position along with other 9 players in the Commonwealth Chess Championship being held now at Waskaduwa in Sri Lanka.
The 8th round games were held on Friday and Shakil beat Baivah Mishra of India.
The 9th or last round games will be held today (Saturday) and Shakil will play against Indian GM Abhijit Kunte.
