Shakib Al Hasan’s left ankle will take another week to heal from the injury he suffered on July 14.
“He will be fully fit to resume full phased activities maximum 10 days from the day of injury,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) assistant physio Monirul Amin on Monday.
“He’s already improving, swelling is much lesser now. We are expecting that within next 1-2 days he can take part in upper body exercise, lower body cycling, working,” Monirul was speaking about the progress of Shakib’s injury.
Shakib, who is now passing through the conservative treatment and rehab programme, suffered a grade one level left ankle sprain –meaning that one or two ligaments of that leg got affected sidelining him from the Tigers fitness camp.
The Tigers started their conditioning camp on July 10 ahead of the Test series against Australia at home and for an away series in South Africa.
