In two contrasting days, visiting Bangladesh showed differentials of performance in the shortest format of cricket. The heavy defeat in the first T20I against West Indies, although crated the big hopes, could not push down the barometer of confidence as the Tigers squared the series 1-1 with a 12 run win in the second match at Lauderhill, in Florida, USA.
Following the exotic win, Bangladesh skipper appreciated the team performance highly and also gave thanks to the big number of Bangladeshi crowd present in the USA ground
Shakib Al Hasan, “We had a chat after the last match and we had that believe that we can win against Windies. Crowd was a massive factor, I felt we were playing in Bangladesh. Hopefully they will support us tomorrow too. All the bowlers bowled brilliantly. It was a great team effort from us in the end.”
Shakib led the team from the front both with the bat and ball in hand. Bowling his 4 overs, the world number one all-rounder bagged 2 wickets in an economy rate of 4.75. He conceded only 19 runs all together.
Shakib also scored a 38 ball 60 runs, the second best score for the visitors. Scoring highest 74 runs, Tamim Iqbal was adjudged man of the match.
