Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play in the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Test team will arrive in Bangladesh on May 8 to play two Test matches against Bangladesh. The first Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from May 15 to May 19. The second Test match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka from May 23 to May 27.
Shakib Al Hasan said, ” I shall play in the upcoming two-Test match series against Sri Lanka. There is no doubt that I shall take part in the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. If I have any emergency reason, then, it will be a different situation. So, I must play in the forthcoming Test series against Sri Lanka.”
It may be mentioned that Shakib Al Hasan did not want to participate in the South Africa series due to some personal reasons. Later, Shakib Al Hasan took part in the three-match ODI series against South Africa. Bangladesh won the ODI series 2-1 against South Africa. But Shakib could not participate in the two-match Test series against South Africa because most of the family members of Shakib were ill. Then, Shakib returned to the country and went to the United States of America with his elder sister.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan’s mother-in-law died as she was suffering from cancer. But Shakib could not returned to the country. Shakib had to pass a bad situation in that time.
The left-arm all-rounder said, ” I am now in a good shape. I want to focus myself in cricket. So, I shall try to play all the upcoming matches.” Shakib Al Hasan was scheduled to play for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited in the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). But Mohammedan failed to move into the Super League of the DPL. As Shakib has showed his interest to play in the Super League of DPL, Legends of Rupganj have included Shakib in their squad. Shakib’s previous team Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited did not show any objection about Shakib’s inclusion in Legends of Rupganj. So, if everything goes well, Shakib will play for Legends of Rupganj in the rest of the four Super League matches of DPL.
