Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket (Test) team. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced his captaincy of Tigers on Sunday.
Earlier, former head
coach of Bangladesh National Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingha submitted his papers to BCB on Saturday. Hathurusingha completed all the formalities for his resignation from his post. Chandika Hathurusingha submitted his resignation letter after the dismal performance of Bangladesh National Cricket team against their counterpart South Africa recently.
Later, Hathurusingha arrived in the city on Saturday last. He blamed the senior cricketers of Bangladesh team for the dismal performance of Bangladesh team in South Africa.
Then Board of Directors of BCB stepped down Mushfiqur Rahim from his post. Mushfiqur Rahim was the captain of Bangladesh National Cricket (Test) team. BCB also took the decision that Shakib Al Hasan will be the replacement of Mushfiqur Rahim. Shakib has been appointed Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket (Test) team.
Earlier, after the Sri Lanka tour, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza quit his post. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was the captain of Bangladesh National Cricket (T20 I) team. Then Shakib Al Hasan has been appointed Captain of Bangladesh National (T20 I) Cricket team.
It may be mentioned that Mahmudullah Riyad will assist Shakib Al Hasan as his deputy.
