Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh has been named International Cricket Council (ICC) Player of the Month (July). The ICC issued this information in a press release on Wednesday. Shakib Al Hasan showed an outstanding performance against Australia in the five-match T20I series. Bangladesh clinched the T20I series 4-1 against Australia recentlyS. Shakib has regained his position as he is now the best T20I all-rounder in world cricket, according to the latest ICC Ranking . ‘ Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman has taken the 10th position as the bowler of T20I cricket.
The other cricketers, who were nominated for the award of the ICC Player of the Month (July), are Mitchell Marsh of Australia and Hayden Walsh of West Indies.
Earlier, ace batsman Mushfiqur Rahim of Bangladesh was named ICC Player of the Month (May).
Meanwhile, Stafanie Taylor of West Indies has been named the ICC Female Player of the Month (July).
Shakib Al Hasan showed a superb performance in the month of July against Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe. Shakib captured five wickets in the lone Test match against Zimbabwe. He claimed eight wickets in the three-match ODI series and scored 145 runs in the ODI series. He remained unbeaten with 96 runs in the second ODI. He scored 37 runs in the three-match T20I series. The prolific all-rounder captured three wickets in the three-match T20I series.
After adjudged the Player of the Month, Shakib said, “I have tried to show an extra-ordinary performance. So, this achievement is something special for me. It is a very much worthy thing to contribute for the victory of the team. I am highly delighted as I did it.”
Stafanie Taylor showed an all-round performance against Pakistan to win the series. Thus she was adjudged the Female Player of the Month (July).
