Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and leg spinner Jubair Hossain struck through the batting line-up of India before rain forced to take off the stumps of the Day 3 of the only Test between the two countries at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium on Friday. Shakib struck twice at the beginning of the Day 3 to claim the wickets of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma before spinner Jubair Hossain picked up the wicket of the India’s skipper Virat Kohli. Shakib took a return catch of Dhawan off his own bowling in the 12th over of the day. Dhawan returned scoring 173 with 23 boundaries. In his very next over, the left-arm spinner bowled Rohit Sharma (6). Five overs later, Jubair bowled the skipper of the visitors. Kohli only added 14 runs. However, another Indian opener Murali Vijay who was unbeaten on 89 at the end of Day 1, bagged his 6th Test century. Vijay reached his hundred in the 8th over of the day with a boundary off Taijul Islam. India were 398/3 in 93 overs at lunch. Rain appeared during the lunch and delayed the start of the play. However, the field was ready and play resumed at 1:50pm. Rain again reappeared at 2:10pm. India were 423/3 when play resumed at 2:15pm. Shakib picked up Murali Vijay’s wicket just in the 3rd ball after play resumes. Vijay scored 150 with 12 boundaries and an overboundary. Later, Jubair bowled Wriddhiman Saha (6) while another delivery from Shakib took out the off stump of Ajinkya Rahane who went for 98.
