Shakib jointly highest wicket-taker of Bangladesh in ODI cricket

The country’s ace cricketer Shakib Al Hasan is now jointly the highest wicket-taker of Bangladesh in ODI cricket. The ace all-rounder was suspended by International Cricket Council (ICC) as he failed to disclose corrupt approaches to the authority. During his suspension time he missed 17 ODI matches to play for Bangladesh.
The left-arm spinner captured one wicket at the cost of 44 runs against Sri Lanka in the first ODI match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the city’s Mirpur on May 23.
Later, Shakib Al Hasan bagged two wickets at the cost of 38 runs in the second ODI match against Sri Lanka at the same venue on May 25. Thus he captured 269 wickets playing 211 matches and touched the record of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Mashrafe and Shakib Al Hasan are now jointly the highest wicket-taker of Bangladesh in ODI cricket. The ‘Narail Express’ claimed 269 wickets playing 218 matches. But Shakib Have to wait at least a match to be the highest wicket-taker of Bangladesh in ODI cricket.
Meanwhile, the ace all-rounder made another record on Tuesday last. He captured 122 wickets playing 84 ODI matches in a venue (SBNCS). Earlier, Wasim Akram of Pakistan claimed 122 wickets playing 77 ODI matches at Sharjah International Cricket Stadium.
The cricket lovers of the country are eagerly waiting to watch on television that their beloved all-rounder will cross the record of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and as well as Wasim Akram.
