Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan hit his career fifth Test century, the first against Sri Lanka, on third day of the second Test against Sri Lanka held on Friday at P Sara Oval, Colombo.
The left handed batsman Shakib got to the useful century in the 111th over on the third day with a well-timed sweep off Dilruwan Perera.
But three overs later, he became victim of Lakshan Sandakan’s fourth wicket when he holed out to mid-on for 116, ending an useful seventh wicket partnership of 131 with Mosaddek .
His patient 159-ball stay studded with ten boundaries, but it was an innings that was more about how he curbed his aggression for long periods on the third morning.
