Bangladesh premier all-rounder Shakib al Hasan said he was excited to play for Fortune Barishal for the first time in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
During the official signing with the franchise, the southpaw said he wants to win the BPL title for the Barishal and present it to the supporters.
“I am very excited. I got the opportunity to play for Fortune Barisal for the first time. We will try to present the title to the people of Barisal this time,” said Shakib in a video message on Saturday.
Shakib will be backed by stars like Chris Gayle, Mujib Ur Rahman and Danushka Gunathilakara in the team. He was optimistic for the team and said they are going to field a balanced side in the upcoming season.
“I am very happy with the team. I think we have a balanced team. All the teams are really good. We actually have to perform on the field,” he added.
The 8th season of the six-franchise BPL will get underway on January 21 when Fortune Barishal take on the Chattogram Challengers at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur.
