Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will play the second Test for Bangladesh against Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur. The match will start from today.
Shakib Al Hasan got injury during the match against West Indies in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup at the United Arab Emirates. After the injury, Shakib could not play in the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against the touring Pakistan. The left-arm all-rounder also missed the first Test against Pakistan at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from November 26 to November 30 due to injury.
Captain of Bangladesh Test team Mominul Haque said, ” We have planned to use two pacers and two spinners against Pakistan in the second Test. Shakib Al Hasan will be a vital weapon for us.
Mominul said, ” If Shakib Bhai plays for Bangladesh in Test cricket, our mission will be easier. We can use four bowlers and seven batters.”
After Shakib returned home, he took part his individual practice sessions at the Masko Shakib Cricket Academy under supervision of Coach Salahuddin. Now Shakib is totally okay. Shakib joined the practice session of Bangladesh Cricket team from Thursday last.
Mominul Haque said, ” Shakib Bhai prepared himself for the second Test. I have seen that he had no problem during the practice sessions. Every thing is okay and everything will be easier for him.”
The Skipper of Bangladesh team said, ” If Shakib Bhai plays for Bangladesh team, I feel tensionless as a Captain. His batting performance and bowling display are very much important for us. If he plays for Bangladesh team, there is a balance in our side. Shakib Bhai is very positive player for us.”
