National cricket idol and ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is the spokesman of Think Wise campaign. He will work for the awareness of HIV AIDS.
Darren Sammy of West Indies, Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka, Ricky Ponting of Australia and Virender Sehwag of India are the spokesmen of their respective countries.
Regarding the awareness of HIV AIDS, a press conference was held at the Balcony of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on Tuesday.
Prolific all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Dhiraj Malhotra,Tournament Director of ICC World Twenty20 Cricket 2014, Dr Hussain Sarwar Khan,Line Director National AIDS/ STD Programme, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Leo Kenny, UNAIDS County Director, Pascal Villeneuve, Representative, UNICEF Bangladesh were present at the conference.
Shakib Al Hasan said, “Everybody should conscious about HIV AIDS. If necessary the attacked person should consult with the concern person. No one should hesitate to consult to the related person. Everybody should take protection before sex.”
Meanwhile, the players will use red ribbon in their jerseys during the upcoming 16 matches of ICC World Twenty20 Cricket including semifinals and the final. The red ribbon is the symbol of awareness of HIV AIDS.
