Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan reached Kolkata on Saturday to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Kolkata Knight Riders. Kolkata Knight Riders bought Shakib Al Hasan for Indian Rupees 3.2 crore.
The IPL begins on April 9. Koklata Knight Riders will play their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL on April 11. Before that Shakib will finish his quarantine and prepare for the first match.
Shakib Al Hasan returned from United States America on March 22. After that he took part at the practice session in Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for a day and then participated at the practice session in his own cricket academy Masco-Shakib Cricket Academy.
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan was granted a paternal leave to stay with his pregnant wife in United States of America. Shakib became a father of baby boy recently. Later, Shakib submitted a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Shakib informed BCB that he is interested to take part in the IPL rather than upcoming Sri Lanka Test series. BCB gave him No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Shakib to play in the IPL.
It may be mentioned that when Shakib will engage in IPL, his teammates will be busy in Sri Lanka to play two-match Test series against the islanders.
