Shajahan for unity to stop anarchism

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan yesterday called upon the people of the country to be united to prevent all kind of anarchism in the name of democratic movement.
“People of the country have to be united to stop torching vehicle, killing people, making violence in the name of movement,” he told the newsmen after visiting the burn-injured victims at Dhaka Medical College Hospital by the ongoing blockade called by BNP-led 20-party alliance.
Truck driver Piar Mia, CNG-run three-wheeler driver M Saiful, passenger Shafikul Alam, rickshaw puller Amulla Barman and another covered van driver M Selim are undergoing treatment at the burn unit of the hospital form the different parts of the country, said a release.
During the visit, the minister talked to the on duty doctors and enquired about the treatment of them.
He condemned the attack terming it as a heinous act in the name of movement.
Bangladesh Road Transport Workers’ Federation General Secretary Osman Ali, Organising Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman, Prof Dr M Hedayet Ali Khan and Prof M Abul Kalam, among others, accompanied the minister during his visit.
The minister also donated Taka 10,000 to the family member of critically injured covered-van driver Piar Mia.
