BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday alleged that State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam removed his Facebook posts about party’s acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s passport in the face of huge public criticism.
“Shahriar Alam himself has removed documents about Tarique Rahman’s passport posted on his Facebook account, claiming that his Facebook was hacked,” Rizvi said at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan central office.
The State Minister recently posted on his Facebook account that Tarique Rahman has no more Bangladeshi citizenship as he surrendered his passport in the UK.
Rizvi firmly said that Tarique Rahman never renounced his Bangladeshi citizenship.
The BNP leader criticized Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif’s latest statement of Sheikh Hasina’s continuing as Prime Minister till she be capable.
“It signaled keeping BKSAL in full functioning sending democracy in exile,” Rizvi alleged.
He referred to Hanif’s remarks made on Wednesday that as long as Sheikh Hasina
would alive Awami League will remain in power and Hasina remain Prime Minister.
“The Awami League leader’s statement is the appropriate echo of recognition that there is remaining an autocratic government,” he said.
Rizvi also said that the government wants to push the country into a civil war.
