Shahneoyaj Cacoly as judge in Asian Film Festival

Noted Bangladeshi filmmaker and artist Shahneoyaj Cacoly left Dhaka on Thursday to join as a judge in the Third Eye Asian Film Festival which is being held in Mumbai of India from December 24 to 31.
Cacoly for the first time has become a jury member in any film festival which is being held outside the country. She will perform as a judge in the Short Film category in the festival on behalf of Bangladesh.
Asian Film Foundation has been arranging this festival since 2002.
Before leaving Bangladesh to attend the festival filmmaker Cacoly told this correspondent, “Earlier I participated in this festival as a contestant. In 2012, my movie Uttorer Sur was screened. This time I am attending the festival as a judge. I am feeling really glad.”
It may be mentioned that Uttorer Sur won the National Film Award in 2012 in Bangladesh.
Cacoly also said, “Now I am taking preparation to make my next movie. Its script is confirmed. Within very short time I will start its shooting. Everybody pray for me.”
She also informed that fourth day of the festival Cacoly’s directed a movie Nodijon will be screened.
Cacoly is now also working as a jury member in the committee for the selection of the government-grant movies under the Information Ministry, she said.
