Shahina’s solo Durbiney Chokh

Shahina is one of the most renowned and eminent voices in the world of music in Bangladesh. Besides being a successful homemaker, she had never let loose the passion which she had dreamt of from childhood-the passion of singing which was always a part of her life through thick and thin. Music probably was always in her DNA which she inherited from her father who made her realise the essence of seven notes.
Her solo album titled Durbiney Chokh is a collection of eight Bangla modern songs. Lyrics of the album were written by Rajiv and music was composed by Pintu Ghatak. Title of the songs of the album are: Durbiney Chokh, Ghum Bhanga Bhor, Mora Saiyaa, Adurey Megh, Piya Bina, Kake Tumi Mon, Borsha Ele and Maa.
The launching ceremony of the album was held at Gulshan Club on Saturday night where Mahbubul Hoque Shakil, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, granddaughter of Kazi Nazrul Islam, famous singer, recitation artiste and anchor Anindita Kazi, noted sculptor Ferdousi Priyobhashini, popular model and actress Mehazabien Chowdhury, recitation artiste Shimul Mustapha, dance director Ivan Shahriar Sohag, singer Bappa Mazumder, singer Shwapnil Shojib, actress Rosie Siddiqui, among others.
Shahina started receiving lesson on Nazrul Geeti and Rabindra Sangeet from Chhayanaut in Dhaka from very tender age. In due course of time she also took talim in classical music from Sanjiv Dey and Ustad Phool Mohammad. She has also been trained under Sujit Mustapha.
Shahina is a Grade-A artiste of Bangladesh Betar and Television.
She performed in different shows in and outside the country.
She also published various mixed album with some big names like Bappa Mazumdar, Sheikh Sadi Khan, Rafiquzzaman and so on.
