BAF Shaheen College Dhaka emerged as the champions of the Walton 1st Inter-Shaheen College Hockey Tournament when they defeated BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola by 3-1 goals in the final at the Hockey Turf of BAF Shaheen College Dhaka on Thursday.
Mostafizur Rahman of BAF Shaheen College Dhaka was adjudged the Player of the Tournament while Bidarshan of Shaheen College Chittagong was the highest scorer of the meet.
A total of seven Shaheen Colleges across the country took part in the hockey competition. They were: Host BAF Shaheen College Dhaka, BAF Shaheen College Kurmitola, BAF Shaheen College Jessore, BAF Shaheen College of Pahar Kanchanpur of Tangail, BAF Shaheen College of Shamshernagar of Sylhet, BAF Shaheen English Medium School and BAF Shaheen College Chittagong.
After the final match, President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation and Chief of Air Staff of Air Marshal Abu Esrar distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn was with him as the special guest.
The champions of the tournament were awarded Tk 25 thousand while the runners-up of the meet were given Tk 15 thousand. The Player of the Tournament and the highest scorer of the competition got Tk 5 thousand each.
