Visited Dhaka, the then capital of East Pakistan
It was in Nineteen Hundred and Forty Eight
There occurred an incident near Mymensingh gate.
He attended a Convocation of varsity students at Curzon Hall
Where he declared ‘only Urdu shall be the state language’ for all
The students uttered loudly ‘no’ ‘no’ against the declaration
The police became puzzled how to tackle the situation.
When the student community opposed it vehemently
The government noted the situation anxiously
And asked police to stop such uttering right now
But the student community opposed it somehow.
The government did not pay heed to their claim
And asked police to confine and detain
It’s 21st February1952, the students strongly urged for the parity
Later, they united together at the corridor of Dhaka Varsity.
They strongly claimed Bangla for the State Language
The then ruler became furious to see such courage
The student community urged people to resist the ruler
The then ruler asked army to kill such caller.
They killed Barkat, Salam, Rafiq, Jabbar and others
The world observed the inhuman disasters
The students thus planted the seeds of freedom
Later, it became the national demand wisdom.
The world wondered to see their patriotism
And felt to realize the repercussion of despotism
For them award is the highest honour
The nation called them ‘Shaheed’, the great contributor.
February is the month of Language Martyr
Bangladesh is known a land of Freedom Fighter.
Still the roses blossom in honour of martyr’s goal
The nation vow and pay homage for their departed soul.
