Court Correspondent :The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Thursday allowed police three days to question cricketer Shahadat Hossain alias Rajib in a case filed for physically torturing his domestic help in the city. East bowler Shahadat earlier, surrendered in the court on Oct 5, a day after police arrested his wife Jesmin Jahan Nitto from a house in Malibagh area of the capital. The court sent Shahadat to the jail after his surrender. The next day police pleaded for a seven-day remand for the cricketer.On Thursday, Magistrate Yousuf Hossain rejected Shahadat’s bail plea and granted the law enforcers three days to interrogate him.In September, Shahadat filed a complaint to the police claiming that his maid had gone missing. But several hours later, 11-year-old girl Happy accused the cricketer and his wife of torture in their house.Khandkar Mozzamel Haque, a journalist, found the injured child in Mirpur area and took her to the local police station and later filed the case with the police station.
