Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin has visited the Bangladesh High Commission (HC) in London recently after attending “The COP26 July Ministerial” held in the United Kingdom (UK) on July 25-26.
During the visit, the environment minister joined a view exchange meeting with the officials of the high commission and gave necessary instructions about the Bangladesh’s preparations regarding the upcoming 26th United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) scheduled to be held in Glasgow, the UK from October 31 to November 12 this year, an official handout said on Wednesday.
He asked the officials concerned to keep in close touch with their counterparts of the host country the COP26.
Shahab Uddin also paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at the great leader’s portrait set up at the High Commission’s Mujib Corner and signed the visitors’ book there, the handout said.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry Secretary Md Mostafa Kamal, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem and Department of Environment (DOE) Director General Md Ashraf Uddin accompanied the minister during the visit.
Besides, senior officials of the high commission and the leaders of the Bangladeshi community in London were present on the occasion.
