Sports Reporter :The International Cricket Council has approved Shafiul Islam as a replacement in Bangladesh’s World Cup squad for pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain, who was sent home after breaking a team curfew. Al-Amin did not play in the team’s opening 105-run win over Afghanistan, and Bangladesh’s second match against Australia was washed out in Brisbane on the weekend.The ICC issued a statement on Monday saying Shafiul, who has played 52 one-day internationals for Bangladesh, had been approved to join the 15-man squad in “an exceptional circumstance.”Earliar, the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) of ICC informed the Bangladesh team management of Al-Amin staying outside the team hotel after the 10pm deadline, confirmed Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud. “Normally if a player has to stay outside the hotel after 10pm, he has to take the management’s permission,” Mahmud said. Bangladesh were in Brisbane for a World Cup match against Australia but Saturday’s scheduled game was abandoned without a ball being bowled because of torrential rain.Al-Amin played 11 ODI’s for Bangladesh since early 2014, but had not yet appeared in the current World Cup. Bangladesh is due to play 1996 champion Sri Lanka on Thursday.
