AKM Shafiqur Rahman has been appointed as Managing Director of National Bank Limited (NBL). Prior, he was Additional Managing Director of the bank, says a press release.
Shafiqur Rahman started his career as Probationary Officer in Bangladesh Krishi Bank in the year 1974 and worked as head of different branches and divisions up to 1988.
Later, he joined National Bank Limited.
Rahman is an MA with Honors in Economics. He completed a Certificate Course on `Program on Investment Appraisal and Management’ from Harvard University, USA in 1999. During his long banking career Rahman widely traveled home and abroad and attended different seminar, symposia.
He was born in Naria, Shariatpur in 1950.
