Shafa-at-Pervez and Susmita Mariyam were made president and secretary respectively of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (SCF) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit.
Shafa-at-Pervez is a masters’ student of JU Institution of Information and Technology (IIT) while Susmita is a third year student of Urban and Regional Planning Department of the university.
The organization has announced the new committee marking its 12th annual convention held on the campus on Wednesday.
The others office-bearers are Vice-President Masuk Helal Anik of IIT and Organizing Secretary Tawhid Hasan Shuvro of Zoology Department.
Earlier, Professor of JU Economics Department Anu Mohammad inaugurated the convention as the chief guest on central Shaheed Minar premises on the campus while central President of SCF Janardan Datta was present, among others.
Presided over by Convener of JU SCF Maitri Barman, a discussion session was held at Selim-Al-Deen Muktamancha on the campus while Professor of JU Government and Politics Department Naseem Akter Hossain and a member of central committee of Bangladesh Samaztantrik Dal (BSD) Comrade Razekuz Zaman addressed the session, among others.
Later, a cultural event was held at the Muktamancha.
