Opener Shadman Islam fell five runs short from his hundred but Shinepukur Cricket Club managed a nail-biting one-wicket victory over Legends of Rupganj in the seventh round match of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPDCL) held on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
The left handed batsman Shadman hit eight boundaries from 116-ball as Shinepukur chase down the target making 272 in 50 overs with one wicket in hand.
Earlier, Rupganj scored 268 for 3 from their allotted 50 overs, courtesy half centuries from Mohammad Niam (93) and Parvez Rasool (88 n.o), after they were forced to bat first by Shinepukur.
Naeem Islam Jr Shuvagata Hom and Raihan Uddin took one Rupganj wicket each.
Apart from Shadman’s match-winning knock, Uday Kaul supported him with a magnificent knock of 61-run.
Mohammad Shahid grabbed three Shinepukur’s wickets while Parvez Rasool and Mosharraf Hossain shared two wickets each.
Shadman Islam of Shinepukur was named the player of the match for his match-winning knock.
