Shadman Islam has been ruled out from the 2nd Test. Bangladesh will take on West Indies in the second Test, which begins at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur from today.
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan could not take part in the second Test as he got groin injury during the first Test against West Indies at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Shadman Islam, the left-handed batsman got injury when he was fielding on the fourth day (Saturday) of the first Test. The medical team of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not take any risk about Shadman’s injury. So, Shadman will be out of the second Test.
Meanwhile, Soumya Sarkar was called by BCB on Tuesday last. Soumya will be the replacement of Shakib Al Hasan.
