Shabnur’s silver jubilee in big screen

Shabnur is one of the popular actresses in the country’s film industry. Still now she has fans of unlimited at home and abroad. Today Shabnur will complete 25 years of her acting career in country’s film arena. She started her career with the hands of late Ehtesham through movie Chandni Raat-ey which was released on October 15 in 1993.
Produced by MB Films Ltd Shabbir acted against Shabnur in this Aziz Mohammad Bhai presented movie. Though that movie did not become super-hit but director Zahirul Haque realized Shabnur’s acting quality and skill. So, Shabnur later came into limelight acting against late Salman Shah in same director’s movie Tumi Aamar. Then Shabnur stepped forward. With Salman Shah she presented many super-hit movies like Bikkhobh, Tomake Chai, Swapner Thikana, Mohamilon, Bichar Hobey, Jibon Sangsar, Ananda Ashru, etc. These movies brought Shabnur into limelight.
With Omar Sani Shabnur acted movies Prem-er Ahonkar and Odhikar Chai also became super-hit during that time.
After death of Salman Shah, Shabnur started to work against Riaz. They also presented many super-hit movies. In fact, she worked with all heroes of her time. She dominated the film industry for 15 years at a time. She got the National Film Award for acting Mostafizur Rahman Manik’s Dui Noyon-er Alo in 2005.
While sharing her feelings to work in big screen for 25 years Shabnur told this correspondent, “I have crossed 25 years of my career. I lost many popular faces during this time. Everybody still honour me in the industry with the blessings of Allah. I am grateful to all. Specially I can mention the name of my younger sister Jhumur. With everybody’s co-operation I have become today’s Shabnur. I want to pass happy life with all.”
Now Shabnur is one of the owners of Dhaka’s Sydney International School situated at Baridhara.
