Shabnaz and Nayeem are always treating as an idol couple in the film industry. This couple has been passing silver jubilee of their conjugal life today. On October 5 in 1994, their wedding ceremony was held at Shabnaz’s residence in Lalmatia. They are parents of two daughters.
Their elder daughter Namira is now studying in Canada while younger daughter Mahadia, who is also a singer, is studying in the capital’s Aga Khan School.
Shabnaz-Nayeem started their acting career as a pair on the screen through late Ehtesham’s movie Chandni, which was released on October 4 in 1991. Then this pair presented many commercial movies one after another like Dil, Sonia, Chokhey Chokhey, Bisher Banshi, Anutopto, Takar Ahongkar, Sakkhat, Jeed, etc. They last worked together in film Ghorey Ghorey Juddho.
Nayeem last acted in Meyerao Mastan and Shabnaz last acted in Azizur Rahman’s Daktar Bari. She got the National Film Award for Alamgir-directed movie Nirmom.
While talking about silver jubilee of their conjugal life Nayeem told this correspondent, “My father was died in 1994. After that Shabnaz gave me a lot of mental support which was necessary for me during that time. Then we tied the nuptial knot and Namira and Mahadia came into our life. We are now passing happy life.”
Shabnaz said, “Now I can recall our wedding day after passing 25 years. We tied the nuptial knot so hurriedly. We passed many hurdles while passing these 25 years. May Allah bless us as we can remain well forever. Everybody pray for our daughters as they can establish in their lives.”
