Today is the birthday of legendary film actress Shabnam. Last year she lost her husband noted music composer and director Robin Ghosh. After losing husband Shabnam has been passing lonely days. Her only son Roni Ghosh most of the time stays outside the country due to his professional works. But he has come to country for mother’s birthday. He will pass the day with mom.
While talking about her birthday Shabbnam told this correspondent, “Once I had great interest about my birthday. Now when birthday comes it seems I am going to very close of death. When this comes in mind I feel bad. For this reason, now birthday brings me a sorrow day. Everybody pray for me as I can remain well.”
In 1998, Shabnam last acted in Kazi Hayat’s movie Aammajaan. Late hero Manna, Amin Khan and Moushumi were her co-actors in that movie.
After this movie Shabnam was not seen to work in any film. But she has interest to work again in big screen.
Four decades ago, Shabnam for the first time acted in late Nazrul Islam directed movie Ayna against Nadim.
It was one of the commercially successful films in the history of Pakistan films. To act in this movie, Shabnam received the Pakistan’s highest honourary award, Nigar Award.
