About four decades ago, legendary film actress Shabnam paired up with Nadim in movie Ayna under the direction of late Nazrul Islam. It was one of the super-hit movies in film industry of Pakistan during that time. For acting in that movie Shabnam got Pakistan’s highest honorary award, Nigar Awards during that time.
To modify the original story of Ayna, more movies were made in India and Bangladesh later. In the 90s, when Shabnam permanently returned to Bangladesh from Pakistan film industry of that country became dilapidated. Though in Pakistan, now many movies are being made but those do not become hit or super-hit.
Last February Shabnam went to Pakistan to share her experiences including acting in Ayna in different universities there. There a decision was taken to make Ayna again with the title Ayna-2 to cast Shabnam and Nadim. Syed Nur will make this movie. This time Shabnam and Nadim will also act but they will play the roles of husband and wife.
While talking in this regard Shabnam told this correspondent, “Already mahurrat of Ayna-2 was held. In that mahurrat, only director Nazrul Islam and music director Robin Ghosh were not present. They have already passed away from this world. Two songs of the movie will be dedicated to Robin Ghosh. I am really very much eager to work in Ayna-2.”
Shabnam informed that due to necessity of the story of Ayna-2, it’s shooting will be also held in Canada. Two to three days shooting will be held in Karachi, Pakistan. April 20 she has returned from Pakistan. Before returning to Bangladesh on behalf of her honour Mayor of Pakistan gave her a reception. There she got the Lifetime Achievement Award. Her contribution in the field of movies in Pakistan was narrated by the Mayor. Shabnam acted in many movies in Pakistan. She last worked in Kazi Hayat’s Aammajan in Bangladesh.
