The Shab-e- Meraj was observed in port city with religious fervor. The pious Muslims prayed on the night of Shab-e-Meraj for welfare of the country and Muslim ummah. The law enforcing agencies took special measures for the night.
The people of Chittagong went to the mazars and mosques in the city. The mazars and mosques of Chittagong were open whole night for the Muslims. There were no unwanted incidents in the city on the night of Shab-e- Meraj.
The law enforcing agencies including Rapid action Battalion (RAB), police deployed huge number of their members’ in-front of the mosques and mazars.
The Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Iqbal Bahar said that law enforcing agencies were very alert to maintain security on the night of holy Shab-e- Meraj.
The RAB teams were deployed at the Shah Amanat Shah mazar, Bodor Shah mazar, Shah Goribullah Shah mazar, Baizid Bostami mazar, Maijbhandar Sharif mazars and Anderkillah Jame Mosque, Jamiatul Falah Mosque and other important religious place on the night. Thousands of people went o the mosques and mazars and prayed for the nation and the country.
