SFP in pry schools within 5 years: Mostafiz

Minister for Primary and Mass Education Mostafizur Rahman, MP, has said steps have been taken to bring all primary schools in poverty prone areas under School Feeding Programme (SFP) in next five years.
“We have started motivating guardians to make the programme successful,” the Minister said at a divisional consultation workshop on ‘National School Feeding Policy (NSFP-2016)’ at Begum Rokeya auditorium here on Thursday afternoon as the chief guest.

participated by primary education officials, Upazila Nirbahi Officers, heads of different primary schools, guardians, members of school managing committees from all over Rangpur division.
Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Md Gias Uddin presided over the day-long workshop.
The Minister said nutritious foods will be provided to the students of all primary schools under the School Feeding Programme in Poverty Prone Areas within the next five years to bring up them as healthy citizens and properly flourish their latent talents.
“We can materialise the long-cherished dream of building a Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through working for welfare of the children to make them worthy citizens for the future,” he said.
He called upon the government officials and guardians for coming forward with commitment and sincerity for making the School Feeding Programme in Poverty Prone Areas successful to produce healthy and properly educated future citizens.
Project Director of School Feeding Project in Poverty Prone Areas of Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Ram Chandra Das, Deputy Chief (Planning) Rabiul Islam and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Priyosindhu Talukder also spoke.
