City dwellers in some parts of Malibagh Chowdhurypara and Khilgaon areas are facing severe troubles due to low supply of gas and electricity and frequent load shedding.
Some dwellers at Malibagh Chowdhurypara yesterday alleged that electricity supply in the areas remained almost suspended from early morning till at noon for the last several days. They also faced load shedding several times at night. The supply of gas also stated to be the same.
Many dwellers are using candles to light their houses at night and in the early morning. They are also using stoves to cook foods. It is forcing particularly the bachelors to take meals at hotels and restaurants paying high price.
Some local residents told The New Nation yesterday that they had informed the authorities concerned about the ongoing problems but there was no progress to be found.
