Seven suspects of robbery were arrested by Bhangura Thana police on Thursday after midnight. They are Siddiqur Rahman (34), Roni (32), Ridoy (30), Sagor (31), Shakil (33), Arif (31) and Apu (29). All of them are residents in the Ishwardi Upazila under Pabna district. Police said they tried to run awaytaken with a pickup van when they saw a police patrol car passing through the mini-high way at Dearpara village of Bhangra upazila.
The people of the village woke up to the sound of police flute and chased them. The villagers held them near at Patuliparavillage and handed over to the police. Police also seized their pick up van and some weapons. Villagers said that miscreants with sharp weapons were looking for opportunities to steal cows or robbery.
