Seven more killed in road crashes

Reckless driving again takes seven more lives including two in Dhaka city and injured many others seriously in separate tragic road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Bogra, at least two persons were killed and another injured after a tank lorry ran over a van on the Dhaka-Bogra Highway at Noymile bazaar of Shajahanpur upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Fazlul Haque, 35, son of one Mozam from Sonaidighi village, and Jahurul Islam, 35, son of Afaz from the same village.
Local sources said, the Bogra-bound oil laden tank lorry rammed the van from behind when it crossed the highway around 3pm, leaving its three passengers seriously injured. The injured were taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Fazlul and Jahurul dead.
Kazol Kumar Nondi, Sub-Inspector of Kunderhat Highway Police Outpost confirmed the matter to media.
In Dhaka, at least two persons, including a women and a Rickshaw puller, were killed in separate road incidents in of the city on Sunday morning.
At Gulistan, a rickshaw puller named Jakir Hossain, 60, was killed when a bus rammed him in Gulistan of the city early Sunday.
The deceased was a resident of Dholpur of Jatrabari.
Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud Rana confirmed the news to media.
At Karwan Bazar, a female passenger was killed and some others were injured when a bus hit a road divider in Karwan Bazar area of capital Dhaka on Saturday night.
Identity of the deceased could not be known yet. She was around 60.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Camp Inspector Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter to media.
In Barishal, A construction worker named Ashiqur Rahman, 18, was killed when a pickup van pushed him on the Barishal Dhaka Highway.
Mahbubur Rahman, Officer in Charge of Barishal City Airport Police told the matter media.
In Sherpur, a driver of a Oil lorry named Moyna Miah,40, was killed when the vehicle overtuned near the Gourdar Bazar under Nakla upazila of the district. In Rajshahi, a helper of a tolly named Al Amin, 13, was killed when the vehicle overtuned in Putia upazila of the district.
